The 2015 BMW 750Li xDrive is the final-year version of the long-wheelbase F02 7 Series with all-wheel drive. Power comes from BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 with 445 hp and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm), through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the xDrive system.
The last of the F02
2015 was the last model year for this generation in the US before the all-new G12 7 Series, with its carbon-reinforced body structure, took over for 2016. That means the 2015 car represents the most developed form of the F01/F02 design, with the updated V8, eight-speed automatic and latest iDrive from the 2013 facelift. Changes from 2014 were minor.
On the road and inside
The car is tuned for quiet, comfortable progress, with air suspension at the rear and a long 3,210 mm wheelbase that gives rear passengers limousine-like legroom. The V8 delivers strong acceleration whenever needed, while xDrive helps in rain and snow. Fuel use is high, as expected from a heavy all-wheel-drive V8 saloon.
Buying one today
These cars depreciate steeply, so they can be tempting used buys, but maintenance is expensive. The V8’s known issues include oil consumption, valve-stem seal wear, timing chains, and turbo coolant and oil lines; electrical faults and suspension wear are also widely reported.
