The 2007 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is Ferrari’s four-seat, front-engined V12 grand tourer, a two-door 2+2 coupe rather than a saloon. Its 5.7-litre (5,748 cc) V12 produces 533 hp and 434 lb-ft (588 Nm) and drives the rear wheels through a rear-mounted transaxle. Background
Launched in 2004 as the replacement for the 456M, the 612 is named after Sergio Scaglietti, the coachbuilder behind many classic Ferrari bodies. It was designed by Pininfarina and built around an aluminium spaceframe with aluminium body panels. Placing the engine behind the front axle line and the gearbox at the rear gives it a rearward weight bias unusual for a front-engined car. The 2007 model sits in the middle of a production run that lasted until 2011, when the FF took over.
