The 2016 Audi Q3 is the front-wheel-drive version of the compact Q3 SUV (Typ 8U). It shares its turbocharged 2.0-litre TFSI four-cylinder with the quattro models, rated at 200 hp and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm), and drives the front wheels through a six-speed Tiptronic automatic.
Choosing front-wheel drive
The front-wheel-drive Q3 was the most affordable way into an Audi SUV in 2016. Dropping the quattro hardware saves weight and complexity, and suits buyers in milder climates who do not need all-wheel drive. The 2016 model year also brought the Q3’s facelift, with a sharper grille, new bumpers and revised headlights and tail-lights. Production remained at the Martorell plant in Spain.
Practicality
