ABOUT THE 2025 BMW X6 M COMPETITION
The 2025 BMW X6 M Competition is the coupe-styled sibling of the X5 M, based on the third-generation X6 (G06) and known as the F96. Its 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged S68 V8 is supported by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and develops 617 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). It has M xDrive all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic, and BMW quotes 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
Where 2025 fits
The X6 M was refreshed for 2024 with new headlights, the Curved Display and the switch from the S63 to the S68 engine. The 2025 model carried this specification over, sold in the US only as the Competition.
Style over space
The fastback roofline is the X6’s reason for being. It reduces rear headroom and boot volume against the X5 M, though four adults still fit comfortably and five can be carried. The car is assembled at Spartanburg, South Carolina, which builds every X6.
Performance
Despite weighing well over two tonnes, the X6 M accelerates like a sports car. Adaptive M suspension, large brakes and an active rear differential keep it composed on fast roads, though the ride is firm on rough surfaces.
Rivals
Competitors included the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe and, further up the market, the Lamborghini Urus. For understanding its output figures, see horsepower vs torque explained.
