End of the F10
The F10 5 Series launched for 2011, and 2016 was its final model year before the G30 generation arrived for 2017. The 550i had received a significant engine update for 2014 alongside a facelift, raising output from 400 hp to 445 hp. By 2016 the car was mature and well equipped, with the eight-speed automatic and iDrive navigation standard.

The N63 family has the most widely reported problems of any modern BMW engine, including heavy oil consumption, leaking valve stem seals, timing chain wear and turbocharger coolant line leaks.
