The 2015 BMW 740Li is the long-wheelbase six-cylinder version of the fifth-generation 7 Series (F02), a full-size luxury saloon with five seats and rear-wheel drive. It is powered by the N55 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six with 315 hp and 330 lb-ft, paired with an eight-speed automatic.
End of the F01/F02 era
The 7 Series received a significant update for 2013, which brought the eight-speed automatic across the range, revised styling and new electronics. 2015 was the final year of this generation before the G11/G12 7 Series arrived for 2016. Above the 740Li sat the V8 750Li and the V12 760Li, with the ActiveHybrid 7 offering a petrol-electric option.
Space and comfort
