ABOUT THE 2025 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT SPEED
The 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed is the flagship of the fourth-generation Continental GT, a two-door, four-seat grand touring coupe built in Crewe, England. It replaces the long-running W12 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that pairs a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 with an electric motor for a combined 771 hp and 738 lb-ft. Drive goes to all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
A new kind of Continental
This is the most powerful Continental GT to date, and the first to be offered as a plug-in hybrid. Bentley calls the system its Ultra Performance Hybrid. A 25.9 kWh battery is mounted behind the rear axle, helping give a 49:51 front-to-rear weight distribution, and Bentley claims an electric range of up to 50 miles on the European test cycle. Bentley quotes 0–60 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph.
Chassis and comfort
The Speed uses twin-valve dampers, a 48-volt active anti-roll system, rear-wheel steering and an electronic limited-slip differential to manage its considerable weight. Despite the performance, it remains a comfortable long-distance car, with a hand-trimmed cabin, an available rotating display that can show dials, a touchscreen or a wood panel, and room for two adults in the rear on shorter trips.
Ownership
As a new and technically complex car, the hybrid system adds charging to the owner’s routine; Bentley quotes a maximum AC charging rate of 11 kW. Servicing should be carried out by Bentley dealers.
Rivals
Competitors include the Aston Martin DB12 and the Ferrari Roma, both of which offer a sportier character but rely on petrol power alone.
