The 2023 Bentley Bentayga EWB is the extended-wheelbase version of Bentley’s large luxury SUV, introduced for the 2023 model year as the first long-wheelbase Bentayga. It uses the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 542 hp and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm), with an eight-speed automatic and permanent all-wheel drive. It is built in Crewe, England.
Launch year of the long Bentayga
The EWB stretches the facelifted Bentayga’s wheelbase by 180 mm, to 3,175 mm, with all of the extra length devoted to the rear doors and rear passenger space. With the Mulsanne out of production, it effectively took over the role of Bentley’s chauffeur-oriented flagship. All-wheel steering is standard, which helps offset the longer wheelbase in tight spaces. Bentley quoted a top speed of 180 mph.
Rear-seat focus
The signature option is the Bentley Airline Seat, a reclining rear seat with a powered footrest and climate sensing that adjusts heating and ventilation automatically according to the occupant’s body temperature. Even without it, rear legroom is generous, and the boot remains large. A four-seat layout with individual rear seats is common, although five-seat versions were also available.
On the road
The V8 gives strong, refined performance, and air suspension provides a smooth ride. Bentley Dynamic Ride, the 48-volt active roll-control system, was available to keep body movements in check. Expect fuel consumption of about 17 L/100km in town.
