The 2008 BMW 328i Coupe (listed here as the 328ci) is the six-cylinder two-door version of the E92 3 Series. Where it fits
The 2008 model year was the coupe’s second, following its debut for 2007. The 328i sat below the twin-turbo 335i and became the volume model of the two-door range. It uses a naturally aspirated engine, which many owners prefer for its simpler design compared with the turbocharged N54.
What it is like
The E92 has a low, wide stance and frameless door windows. Inside there are four individual seats, with a reasonable amount of rear space for a coupe, and a boot large enough for weekend luggage. Hydraulic power steering and the near-even weight distribution give it the feedback for which this generation of 3 Series is remembered.
Buying one today
The N52 is generally regarded as durable, but oil filter housing gasket and valve cover gasket leaks are common, as are electric water pump and thermostat failures. Look for uneven wear on run-flat tyres and check the seat-belt presenter arms and window regulators.
