2024 Audi RS e-tron GT
The 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT is an all-electric sedan. Its electric drivetrain produces 590 hp (440 kW), with a quoted range of 249 miles (401 km), and it has all-wheel drive. 0–60 mph takes 3.1 seconds and top speed is 155 mph (249 km/h).
ABOUT THE 2024 AUDI RS E-TRON GT
The 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT is the most powerful version of Audi’s first-generation e-tron GT, a battery-electric four-door grand tourer that shares its J1 platform and 800-volt electrical architecture with the Porsche Taycan. Two electric motors, one per axle, give all-wheel drive and a combined 590 hp and 612 lb-ft (830 Nm), with a brief overboost to 637 hp available for launches. The rear motor drives through a two-speed transmission.
Final year before the update
The 2024 model year was the last for the original RS e-tron GT before Audi’s mid-cycle revision, which brought a larger battery and considerably more power. The 2024 car therefore uses the original 93.4 kWh (gross) battery, with a peak DC charging rate of 270 kW on suitable chargers. Audi quotes 0–60 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.
On the road and inside
Despite the low, wide shape, the e-tron GT is closer to a comfortable long-distance car than a track tool. Adaptive air suspension is standard on the RS, and the low-mounted battery keeps the centre of gravity down. Rear head room is helped by “foot garages” cut into the battery pack. There is a boot at the rear and a small storage compartment under the bonnet.
Ownership
Running costs are dominated by tyres and charging rather than servicing. Real-world range drops noticeably in cold weather and at sustained motorway speeds, and the car’s weight of roughly 2,330 kg is felt on rough roads.
Rivals
Competitors included the Porsche Taycan Turbo, Tesla Model S Plaid, Lucid Air and Mercedes-AMG EQS 53.
